Recent developments in prison law (Manchester Law Society seminar) (13/09/2005)
Presented by Melanie Plimmer , this seminar focused upon recent judicial review applications which have sought to uphold prisoner’s rights in relation to parole, categorisation, prison living conditions, healthcare, discipline, sentence computation, release and 'lifers'. In doing so the aim was to provide practical guidelines on:
- How to spot a potential JR in decisions affecting prisoners;
- Running a prison JR from the letter before claim to the substantive hearing;
- Successful JR grounds in prison law.
