This was a detailed and practical training seminar which invited solicitors to consider how to obtain better results in the following areas:
- funding applications, with particular reference to appeals to local LSC panels;
- pre-trial litigation tactics;
- Part 36 offers;
- costs issues in Conditional Fee Arrangements;
- costs issues after issue-based apportionment at trial;
- the future of exemplary damages.
The seminar also provided a detailed update on the relevance of recently reported cases to practice and procedure including Laporte v Chief Constable of Gloucestershire [2006] UKHL 55.
