Sex discrimination case reported in Equal Opportunities Review (EOR)

The August EOR has reported the awards made in this pregnancy dismissal/sex discrimination case as part of its annual round up of discrimination awards in 2004. EOR confirms that the injury to feelings award of £12,000 (taken together with the aggravated damages award) was among the top four injury to feelings awards for sex discrimination cases in 2004, whilst the aggravated damages award of £8,000 was the highest award made in sex discrimination proceedings in 2004. EOR also reports that a £10,000 costs order was also made against the Respondents by reason of their conduct towards the Claimant.
