Sentence appeal allowed for Lincolnshire mother

Lincoln mum Katrina Hewitt (20) was jailed for 12 months at the Crown Court in Lincoln in April after she admitted failing to get medical help for her daughter, who had been assaulted by Hewitt's then partner Adam Nind (22).
On appeal, the Court of Appeal decided this week to reduce the appellant’s sentence to a two-year community order with supervision and the appellant has been freed after serving just eight weeks.
