Melanie Plimmer on acting for an Iranian woman persecuted because of her family in Lawyer of the Week interview, published in The Times today.

" Melanie Plimmer , a barrister at Garden Court North, Manchester, acted for an Iranian woman, known as K, in the case of K and Fornah v Secretary of State for the Home Department. The House of Lords reversed previous rulings of the Court of Appeal and accepted that a person who has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of her family membership qualifies for refugee status as the reason for the persecution is her membership of a “particular social group”."
