This employment law seminar will cover recent developments in the law regarding unfair dismissal and employee status.

Course outline

  1. Misconduct dismissals: the relevance of human rights and administrative law principles to the application of the band of reasonable responses - Paul Draycott
  2. Non-misconduct dismissals: recent developments in the law relating to dismissals for reasons such as capacity, ill health, qualifications, retirement and redundancy - Kerry Smith
  3. Automatic unfair dismissal: examination of the statutory provisions and recent EAT authorities - Kerry Smith
  4. Employee status: including a consideration of the ongoing position of agency workers - John Hobson
