Bar Human Rights Committee (BHRC) Meeting - Prison Reform: a discussion on international human rights

The development and implementation of international human rights instruments in relation to prison law and prison conditions is key to respect for the rule of law. Speakers will discuss current trends in prison law domestically and internationally with a view to promoting and protecting the rights of prisoners, upholding fair trial rights and ensuring access to justice.


Bar Human Rights Committee (BHRC) Meeting: Defending the rule of law - developments in international human rights and the independent practice of lawyers abroad

This is the first BHRC meeting to be held in Manchester and the central theme will be the difficulties faced by overseas lawyers to carry out their practice independently. GCN barrister and BHRC member Pete Weatherby, will be amongst a panel of speakers providing updates on a number of the most recent BHRC missions.
