Melanie Plimmer has been invited to speak on the subject of "Challenging Work Permits" at the HJT Judicial Review conference on 14th March 2008 in London.
The conference begins by giving a practical introduction or refresher to procedures and substantive law regarding challenging decisions by way of judicial review, showing which decisions can be challenged, and when and how to do so. Leading barristers will discuss challenges to decisions of the immigration authorities by judicial review. This course will deal with issues such as challenges to unlawful detention, to the refusal of fresh asylum and human rights claims, to third country removals, and to adverse decisions that affect rights such as those flowing from European Community law that affect immigrants. The day will be chaired by Richard Drabble QC of Landmark Chambers.
Melanie Plimmer will present a paper in the afternoon on "Challenging Work Permits UK".
