Mark George QC from Garden Court North will be speaking on the US death penalty training programme organised by Amicus in March and April 2012.
Amicus, the charity which recruits and places volunteer lawyers with US attorneys assisting those on death row or awaiting capital trial is running its Spring training weekend from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th March 2012. A second weekend of training follows on 31st March and 1st April 2012.
Training is essential for those intending to undertake an internship in the U.S. and will prove very helpful to those who simply wish to understand more about the process of capital trial and the death penalty in the USA.
Mark George Q.C . will be speaking on Saturday 17th March 2012. In his first session he will give an introduction to the capital trial process from arrest to imposition of a death sentence including the process of jury selection. In his second talk Mark will cover the appeals process in both state and federal courts for those convicted of capital murder.
